A man in his 30s has died following a two-vehicle road traffic collision on the M4 in County Meath on Tuesday afternoon.

Emergency services and Gardaí were called to the scene on the westbound carriageway near Junction 9 at Enfield at approximately 2:30 pm. One of the drivers, a man aged in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was removed to a local mortuary for a post-mortem examination, and the coroner has been notified.

A woman in her 30s was conveyed to hospital for treatment of injuries described by authorities as non-life-threatening.

The roadway was closed to facilitate a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators, with local traffic diversions put in place.

Investigating Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to the collision to come forward. Authorities are particularly seeking camera or dash-cam footage from road users who were travelling on the M4 near Junction 9 between 2:00 pm and 3:00 pm on Tuesday.
